What is ODAR?
ODAR is in charge of conducting hearings for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
ODAR stands for Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. ODAR administers the hearings and appeals program for the Social Security Administration. ODAR is in charge of conducting hearings for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Disability hearings are held at an ODAR hearing office. There are about 140 hearing offices nationwide. The main ODAR office is also responsible for the Appeals Council where they evaluate the decisions of Administrative Law Judges concerning the appeal filed by claimants.
Before you attend a disability hearing, make sure you know where your hearing office is located and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to your hearing on time. You do not want to be late to your disability hearing.
